Civil Engineering is one of the basic branch of Engineering that fulfills one of the basic needs of a human being & also provides the infrastructure needed for all other branches. The Civil Engineering aims to improve the civic life of society by harmonizing the natural resources available on earth. The major areas in the field of civil & Environmental Engineering are Construction technology, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Municipal & Sanitary surveying & Mapping, & Hydraulics & water Resources. While a construction engineer deals with design & supervision of construction of bridges, buildings, tunnels & dams. The Role of specialized geotechnical engineers are vital & relevant for any structure to stand stable. Transportation engineering deals with the planning, design & construction of roads, railways, airport, dock & harbours. Broadly a civil engineer is expected to do planning, research, design & construction of buildings & roads; traffic & transportation ,irrigation & power, water Supply & Sewage disposal, dam & reservoirs, ports & harbours, airways & navigation, treatment of industrial wastes & abatement of air pollution, noise pollution & disaster mitigation. Besides the basic & engineering sciences, the curriculum in civil engineering covers various Professional subjects e.g. structures, foundation, construction, works management & cost, transportation engineering, irrigation engineering, hydraulics, environmental engineering & earthquake technology etc.

Students have access to every facility to the form of well-equipped labs. They are Basic Civil Engineering Laboratory lab. These labs are equipped with advanced equipment including Total Station, Auto Level, Leveling Staff, Universal Force Tables, Space Force Apparatus, Universal Testing Machine, CTM, Torsion Test, Soil Testing equipments, Wind Tunnel, BOD Incubator, Spectrophotometer, COD Digester etc.
The students get employment with companies such as L & T, Technip, Foster-Wheeler. Bechtel & Gammon, Tata Consultancy Engineering. MAYHTAS, CCL & Ltd. Jain Housing Ltd., Shirke Group of Companies , as well as several MNCs.
