Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj College of Engineering central library was set up in 2011. It started its function with a vision to serve the students and faculty with information needed for them. Library plays vital role in teaching learning process. Library provides knowledge to all faculty and students. Library is an essential component of learning, research and education mission. The library is well equipped, spacious with carpet area of 429.96 Sq. m. The reading room is well furnished to accommodate students at a time and provides conducive environment for study, having capacity of 180 students. Central library is consisting with good collection of engineering books it has about 4718 titles, 15844 volumes, including IS Codes, communication skill books, competitive exam books, non-curricular books, CD’s, e-books, e-journals, national, international journals, and periodicals. The institute always strives to provide latest and best collection of books, journals and online resources to the students. Library has reading hall section, reference section, Books circulation section, newspaper section and e- library section.
Central library provides uncompromising information and intellectual requirements to its students and faculty with a user friendly approach. It offers a fully integrated and dynamic environment for conducting academic study. Multiple copies of text books ensure that resources are easily available in Reference section and stock section. Besides it provides lending of books and journals back volumes, photocopying, CD/DVD and Internet services etc. Library has adopted open access system and maintains OPAC. The library is using Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) for classification of documents and AACR- II modified for catalogue system for catering to the needs of the students , faculty and research scholars.
A well-equipped Digital Library having internet connectivity is housed in the central library for access to e- journals, e-books, e-resources and other educational materials. Library is fully computerized using Library Management System Software

Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj College of Engineering, Ahmednagar offers following Library Facility.
• Students must carry their I-card with them, whenever they visit the library.
• All students are required to fill in the membership form along with one photograph. On completion of necessary formalities, students are given membership number and library card (borrower’s card) will be issued to them.
• All students shall sign in Library user register at the entrance of the Library.
• Everybody has to deposit the personal belongings at the property counter they are strictly not allowed at the issue counter.
• Always maintain silence in the Library premises.
• Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
• Library material is your property please handles with care.
• Always keep your mobiles on silence mode while entering in the Library.
• Without Submission, I card & prior permission nobody can use the books & periodicals, in the Library-reading hall.
• Reference books, back issues of journals & periodicals may not be issued without prior permission.
• Always replace the Library materials on the proper place after use.
• Readers will not be issued to take reference material home.
• In case of loss books/I-card it should be reported immediately in writing to the Librarian.
• Books must be return on or before the due date otherwise the fine of Rs.1 will be charged per day/book
• Students should take care of cleanliness of the library
• It is mandatory for all members who are using facilities to follow the library rules & regulations. For any dispute or problem, Librarian may be contacted
• All members of the library team are available for any assistance you may need in using the library resources, facilities & services. Library will welcome any suggestion for better use of library facilities.
• They should always possess their valid college Identity card while entering the Library Reading Hall and produce the same to the library authority whenever demanded.
• Enter your details in the entry register regularly.
• No discussion permitted inside the library
• All electronic devices brought into the reading room must be completely silenced.
• Readers should maintain peace in the reading room and should not disturb other student in any way. Students should maintain an atmosphere of dignity, peace and silence within the reading room premises.
• Eating food or snacks are not allowed inside the reading room and reading room premises.
• Switch off lights and fans before leaving the library and save energy.
• Students should not disturb the arrangements of the library furniture
• The disciplinary action will be taken against those students violating the above rules.
• Students of the current academic year are only eligible to apply for the scheme. (Drop students are not eligible for this scheme)
• Students return all the books in proper condition at the end of the semester after his/her final examination.
• The students are requested to read all the rules and regulations of Book Bank scheme and follow the same.
• The books under Bookbank scheme will be issued at commencement semester wise.
• All books must be return immediately (Within Two days) after the academics year/semester end examination is over the entire responsibility of taking care of books and returning them on time lies with the students borrowing them
• If the applicants fail to return the books immediately after the examination is over, he/she will be liable to pay a fine of Rs. 2/- per day per book. Delay in returning the books will not entertained under any circumstances.
• Books are to be used with utmost care. In case of improper use of books, torn pages in the books, writing and marking in the books or loss of the books, applicant will have replace the books with a new and latest copy of those books or pay the cost of the books plus a penalty of Rs. 200/- (Two hundred rupees) per book.
